New Year = Resolutions!

IT'S THE END OF 2012!

Did you make resolutions for 2012?

I don't remember if I did or not....that's how well I usually stick to my resolutions. BUT...it's a NEW year and this year I AM MAKING RESOLUTIONS!!! Even though it's still a few hours until we hit 2013 I am already blogging away and making a FREE PRINTABLE grocery list for you. I think all of my followers should benefit from my burst of organization spirit!

Here are the links for you!

Printable Grocery List - this is a blank copy for you to use as you wish

Printable Grocery List -My List - this is a list I have started. These are the items that are ALWAYS on our grocery list.

So obviously my main goal is to be more organized, but here are some others I have come up with and I want to share them with you. I want YOU to help me to be accountable for these. I am going to try a pull a Gretchen Rubin of The Happiness Project and do a new organization project each month. For January 2013, its groceries, menu planning and budgeting. I thought I would start fairly easy, I have these things under control for the most part but would like to streamline them a little bit more so that my planning isn't a last minute ordeal.

In addition to the organization, I am joining a fitness challenge group starting January 7th with Katie Ervin and BeachBody by doing the Slim in 6 Series. Check out all that she has to offer on her website. I gotta lose this "baby" weight....although I think the time has passed that I can call this baby weight....my baby will be 8 in 11 days!!!!

To all my readers and fans....I hope 2013 is a year of health, wealth and happiness!

Christmas is COMING!!!

11 Days until Christmas!!! Are you ready? Have you purchased everything you need in order to celebrate this wonderful holiday? Personally, I have a few things that need to be purchased and have cookies to bake. I absolutely LOVE this time of year but have found that this year feels different to me. I feel more excited yet a little more stressed. Anyone with me on this?

My favorite part of Christmas is the joy I find in all the Christmas lights. We have a street here in my city called Candy Cane Lane. This is the 50th year for Candy Cane Lane and it is AMAZING! I remember when I was a little girl my mom, dad and I would hop in the car to go look at the lights around town and, of course, the Plaza lights. I used to get so excited about the glow of the lights on every house. I had forgotten about Candy Cane Lane until about a year or two ago. We have recently moved to a different suburb of Kansas City and as I was reading the local news online one day, I noticed a story about the infamous Candy Cane Lane and how much time and effort goes into creating this magical street. This year I made a promise to myself that I would take my daughter, Abby, as many times as she wanted to go. Since the street opened the Friday after Thanksgiving we have been down the "lane" about 10 times. Each time I drive through I notice something new....new decorations, they way the lights are strung, but most importantly the way Abby's face starts to glow around all those lights.

I believe that Andy Williams said it best, "It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year".

My First Blog

I have been following many different blogs for awhile now and this is my first attempt at my own blog. I have some favorite bloggers that I will post links to on here soon! I guess I will just start with a little bit about me. I am a wife to a wonderfully supportive husband, we met on blind date almost 13 years ago and have been married for 9 years. We have a beautiful 7 year old little girl who is as sweet as she is smart and funny. Our family pets include Rocky the Boxer dog, aka Princess, and our now 6 month old kitten, Perry the Cat-a-pus. I work full time and am an overtime mom! I love crafts, though I spend more time fantasizing than doing, girly things like makeup, hair, purses and shoes! I am a licensed massage therapist (on the side) and am very interested in health and wellness. If there are any ideas or subjects you would like to see me write about please let me know and I will be happy to offer my opinions and "wise" words!
